In response to the demands from their customers and the construction industry Nationwide our client has decided to establish a scaffolding design service and to recruit an experienced professional scaffolding design engineer who will report directly to the MD and who will lead a team of enthusiastic engineers in this new enterprise from a separate office located in Ashbourne, Co Meath

• To lead and manage a team of civil engineering draftsmen and to develop designs from job specifications in accordance with international engineering standards and codes of practice for scaffolding and form work.
• To develop designs from project specifications.
• To allocate, prioritize and check work of a team of civil engineering draftsmen.
• To check and evaluate design and material specifications for tender.
• To prepare and check material data sheets and coordinate with procurement engineer to select materials.
• To document, record and report on meetings, progress of jobs and construction completions from design & validation reports from Project Engineers.
• To incorporate feed back from projects and customers for design clarification and modifications during the development and construction project phases
• To establish an annual business plan and financial reporting mechanisms
• To deliver financial performance in line with this business plan
Person:
• Bachelor ’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum six years experience in the design of scaffolding and form work
• Competent in the use of design and applications software
• Thorough understanding of Civil Engineering and construction safety standards
• Exceptional design flair.
• Technically competent in all aspects of construction and statutory requirements
• Proficient in AutoCAD, NBS Specification, visual /3D presentations.
• Skilled in managing projects up to £5M value.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Strong business acumen with accompanying skill-set.
• Enthusiastic individual keen to further their own practical experience.
